EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: NURSING ASSISTANT, GENESYS, GRAND BLANC Department: 4 South (Ortho/Neuro) Schedule: Part-time Shift: Second Hours per pay period: 32-64 Job Summary: Facilitates the provision of patient care by performing basic, age appropriate nursing care to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. Also facilitates the efficient functioning of the patient care unit by performing housekeeping, dietary, clinical engineering, and maintenance functions. Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities to provide care to the age group(s) served. Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to read, write and follow oral and/or written instructions. Must possess equivalent of high school diploma. Must be certified Nurse Aide with previous experience as a Nurse Aide preferred. Must successfully complete Service Associate core training (housekeeping, dietary, clinical engineering, maintenance), clinical orientation, and competency and proficiency testing. Must possess the ability and demonstrate the necessary discretion to deal with confidential information, communication skills, initiative, tact, diplomacy and dependability to perform all duties of the position. Must have the ability to establish and maintain rapport with patients, employees, supervisors and contacts external to the Medical Center. Must be willing to do repetitive work and be physically and mentally capable of performing all duties of the position. Must be neat in personal appearance.
