EMS question time. For 20+ years I have secured any intubated patient to a backboard, added c-collar and head beds. The rationale is that by limiting patient movement (especially the head) it decreases the potential for a displaced ET tube. I am now leaning to secured to a board and head blocks without the collar. Any thoughts and feedback? Oh and the backboard is for moving and a firm surface for CPR.
