EMT Per Diem. Safe and efficient transport of the UCLA Health System Patient. Provide BLS level transport and assist the CCT RN with patient care within the EMT-I scope of practice. Maintain current EMT certification with LA expanded scope of practice. Ambulance attendant and/or driving experience. Valid California Ambulance drivers certificate and a good driving record. Valid, current Medical Examiners certificate. Perform all physical requirements pertaining to the transport of patients in gurneys while using correct body mechanics. Relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, guests, and all healthcare members. Skill in listening and comprehending information received in person or over the telephone to transport patients. Skill in reading and writing in Standard English text. Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and convey information needed in the transport process of all patients and other items. Understand medical terminology. Operate medical equipment such as, Ambu-bag, O2 tanks, and Air tanks to perform job duties. Transport patients in a safe, efficient, professional manner appropriate to good public and patient relations.
