EMTALA IS AN UNFUNDED MANDATE, WHICH MEANS THE GOVERNMENT DOESNT - TopicsExpress

EMTALA IS AN UNFUNDED MANDATE, WHICH MEANS THE GOVERNMENT DOESNT PAY FOR FREE ER CARE, WE DO, YOU AND ME. AS OUR MEDICAL COSTS GO UP TO PAY FOR FREE ER CARE, SO DO OUR INS. PREMIUMS. IT COMES DIRECTLY OUT OF OUR MONTHLY BUDGETED EXPENSES. The Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) is a federal law that requires anyone coming to an emergency department to be stabilized and treated, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay (*or proof of citizenship), but since its enactment in 1986 has remained an unfunded mandate. (*The government doesnt pay for it, we do.) Hence, the steady rise in medical care and insurance. Caused by politicians in DC. *Obamacare didnt replace EMTALA. *Illegals still enjoy free ER care. *Illegals still get to show up, have their babies, all services paid. *These new little citizens are then provided for by the USA ( tax payers ). *We give them medical, day care, housing, food, clothing, schooling and supplies. *Many Americans cant pay for their own childrens college but they are taxed for the children of illegal parents. Question: WHAT PART OF BEING ILLEGAL IS ILLEGAL? SM/MD
