END ILLEGAL FISHING llegal fishing is a wildlife crime driven by large profits and inadequate controls, with annual losses valued at up to $23 billion worldwide. Unfortunately, because US laws arent strong enough to always connect the product back to the origin of the catch, right now we simply cannot tell if the fish we eat is stolen from no-fishing zones or caught using illegal techniques. WWF is working in partnership with many stakeholders, from fishers to business to governments, to help move the fisheries marketplace towards a fully traceable seafood supply chain.
