ENJOY YOUR INDEPENDENCE! 1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1). Well, I thought today being Ghana’s Independence Day will be a day for you to rest but my spirit didn’t permit me. God laid on my heart just something little to share with you. I will be quick about it so we can focus on the rest of the day! Before you can appreciate and enjoy your independence, you must first and foremost understand and know that you are free. Just as the history of Ghana shows, blood was shed for you to gain your freedom. People made grave sacrifices to set you free. In the Old Testament days, a slave is set free after he has served the master for a number of years or after the asking price on his head has been paid by another who decides to set you free. The good news is this; God didn’t allow you to serve out your term of being a slave. He decided to buy you out with a price that cost the life of His precious son Jesus. Bible says, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honour God with your body (1 Cor. 6:20). You are free to live again! You are free to smile again! You are free to dream again! You are free to start all over again! And finally you are free to know God and worship God in a way you have never known before! Because if the son of man sets you free, you shall be free indeed (John 8:36). The world may have pushed you down but turn yourself around and look up. Because so long as you look up to God, you will find the inner strength to rise up again. Don’t let your past hold you, don’t let that pain and hurt hold you down, don’t let that disappointment hold you down because you are free to live again! Have a Happy Independence Day!
