ENTERTAINMENT up-date: SUNSHINE ART THERAPY - ART THERAPY FOR AUTISTIC CHILDREN What is it and how can they benefit from Art therapy? Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to help children with physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It is an opportunity for them to explore, discover and create art in a fun and safe environment. It helps children find expression when words fail them. What is wonderful about Art therapy? It plays to your child’s natural strengths and interests; as autistic children are very visual and sensory oriented. What better way to understand what is going on inside their autistic mind, than through art. No artistic talent is required, it’s a playful process! About me:- I have graduated from College of Complimentary medicine in Hornsby as an Art Therapist. I currently live with my nephew and niece who have both been diagnosed on Autism spectrum and I personally understand the daily difficulties parents face when living with an autistic child. My passion is to help them discover a voice in a world that makes no sense and is full of complexities. My role here is to offer support and guidance, listen and ask questions and offer a range of materials for the children to express themselves and have fun. I believe each child is an expert of their own story, with no judgment.
