ENTHUSIASTIC TINKERERS DOING WHAT THEY DO BEST - INSPIRING! Last year, we were honoured to welcome Sir Terry Pratchett to the Watercress Line for a research trip with the aim of discovering as much as possible about steam locomotives. This fruitful and enjoyable trip was one small step in the creation of Raising Steam and as a railway we are honoured to have played our part. It is inspiring that 149 years after our line opened, new ideas, thoughts and dreams are still surfacing. So we hope you enjoy reading Sir Terrys book as much as we enjoyed our small role in helping its creation.
