Area Information: Enix is a small traditional hillside village with a shop, a couple of bar/restaurants, and a town square with the village fountain a feature. The neighbouring village of Felix is slightly larger and offers more culinary choice with 6 restaurants, plus a few village shops and a pharmacy. The villages themselves are the very definition of tranquility. The Finca Anfora vineyards are also a feature of the Enix area, offering many different types of wine including Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Garnacha and Monastrell, the last two being local varieties. Tastings are available and held in the natural cave where the wines mature. Just 10/15 minutes away we find the coastal towns of Aguadulce (10 minutes) and Roquetas de Mar (15 minutes). These areas have several miles of sandy beaches, all with blue flag status. They stretch from Aguadulce in the east to the Natural Park of Puntas Entinas-Sabinar in the west. In between are the districts of Las Salinas, Roquetas old town and the Urbanización. The up-and-coming Las Salinas area of Roquetas is set on the vast plains of salt flats at the foot of the Sierra de Gádor. The main tourist area is called the Urbanización de Roquetas de Mar. Its attractive promenade is fringed with palm trees and there are a number of British and German hostelries that intermingle with the traditional Spanish ones. Aguadulce is part of the municipality of Roquetas de Mar but it is a separate but equally appealing resort with a fine marina. The area also benefits from over 320 days of sunshine each year. Aside from this Roquetas de Mar is one of the primary commercial points in the area, and all amenities can be found here including all manner of shops, medical centre, pharmacies, aquarium, waterpark, cinema and the bullring. The area is also a great base for golfers. There are 3 courses within a 15 minute radius, catering for all abilities between them, the closest of which is La Envia Golf & Spa resort, just a 7 minute drive from the hillside village location. There really is a choice of something for everyone on offer here. Peace and quiet, activities, fantastic variety of cuisine, beaches, pools, and the most important ingredient of all; Sun.. Local airports all served by various UK budget airlines; Almeria airport - 30 mins drive; Murcia airport- just over 1h40 mins drive; Alicante airport –2h drive.
