ENYIMBA, DOLPHINS GET CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAW Nigerian champions Kano Pillars and Enyimba were on Thursday drawn against Sudanese club Malakia and Buffles du Borgou of Benin Republic respectively in the CAF Champions League preliminaries kicking off next year. Pillars won last season’s Nigeria Professional Football League ahead of Enyimba, but the Peoples Elephant capped the year with their victory over Dolphin in the Federation Cup. Dolphin and Warri Wolves were also drawn against Leones Vegetarianos of Equatorial Guinea and Burkina Faso champions Racing Club de Bobo-Dioulasso respectively in the CAF Confederation Cup. According to CAF, the preliminaries begin from February 13, 2015. Pillars will start their campaign on the road when they visit Malakia, while Enyimba will host Buffles in their opening tie. In the Confederation Cup, Leones Vegetarianos will host Dolphins in their first leg fixture before going to Port Harcourt for the second leg tie. Wolves will also start their campaign with an away fixture at Burkina Faso before they return to Warri two weeks later for the second leg fixture. CAF has placed seven clubs on byes in the Champions League – Coton Sport, Esperance, CS Sfaxien, AC Leopards, Al Ahly, ES Setif and TP Mazembe – while ASEC Mimosas, Zamalek, Djoliba, FUS Rabat, AS Vita, Orlando Pirates, Ahli Shendi, Club Africain and Etoile Sportive du Sahel are on byes in the Confederation Cup.
