EP 1: You need to be at least 16 years or older to get your license and youve got to have Nepali citizenship. If you arent Nepali Citizen, you will need to provide your passport and other required documents. You must also be physically competent to ride a motorcycle. Step one check?? lets go on. STEP 2: You need to learn how to ride a motorbike. A trial test will be conducted. Burrow a bike and ask someone to teach you. Dont hit the roads just yet. Find open field where you can pilosh your riding skills without running over anyone (or anything). Knowing clutch, gears, brakes, and accelerator works in theory and practice, go for the ride in inner streets. Dont forget to wear a helmet and always have someone accompany you who know how to ride. Always be prepared for little cuts and bruises. No one learns without setbacks. Just learning how to ride the streets isnt enough, knowing how to maneuver is essential. Space some bricks out by 8 to 10 feet in an open field, you must learn to zigzag through the bricks. You will find out why this is important as you read on. STEP 3: Set? Good. Confident? Great. Fill the forms, and read books and just wait. STEP 4: The main office for License in Ekantakuna. The form costs NRS 200 per vehicle. Take it home and fill it out. You will also need a passport size photo of yourself with both ears showing (dont ask why; maybe if you ears dont show, they will think you are physically handicapped). Take it back, and theyll give you a date for your written test. STEP 5: Yes, there is a written test. You cant expect to get a license without knowing all the traffic rules.!!! I wonder what happens to all this knowledge, after people obtain license. Dont worry. This isnt hard. Bookstores carry traffic books. Its not brain- racking. Read it. After youve gotten all that valuable information stored in that brains of yours, its time to take the test! Good Luck! The test is usually 2 weeks after submission of the forms. You will be given half an hour to complete the test, but it will only take around 5 minutes to complete. You wont have to wait long time to get your results. Obviously, if you fail, you need to study harder to get through the process again. I hope you pass. If you do, congratulations! Now they will provide you with the date for the practical test. STEP 6: The practical test is held in Putalisadak. Vehicles will not be provided, so dont forget to take motorbike with you. Please dont ride it there yourself! (reason being that you are applying for a permit to ride, DUH!) In the actual test, there will be the poles that are attached to the floor. The poles will be spaced. This is where all your practices come in handy. You will have to go around the poles in zigzag motion without touching the poles or touching the ground with your feet. Remember, you can use clutch, so dont use the brakes. If you miss a pole collide into one or touch the ground with your feet, you fail. You will have to repeat the entire process. So, please practice well before you attempt this. If you pass this, a job well done! Of course, you wont get one right away. You will have to wait a couple of weeks to get it, but all that waiting will be worth it hoina? DONTS · Dont practice without helmet and proper instructor · Dont forget the date for your tests. You wont get a second try · For Gods sake, dont try to bribe anyone for a license! Its likely you will be thrown into jail and if not, you might get killed somewhere on the road. . Watch for the green flag if you complete the run, if in case of the foot touchdown too early just after the trials...you are likely to be failed. As absurd as it sounds, these guys are the bosses for the day so watch it carefully. After the wait you will have to go to the yatayat for the license, pay the tax 700/- Nc and get the license electronically typed and for gods sake use the landlines (home phone number) as contact number, cz if you use yours is foolish enough!! DuH! Get in the tedious lines, avoid pimps all along the way and after the ritualistic aangutha chaap you are set to leave the yatayat with the new wings of yours. Just be careful not to get caught foe any motor felony during 1 year probation period. Or you might get your license seized. «
