EPAPHRAS’ PRAYER In Colossians 4:2 (AMP), Paul wrote: “Epaphras, who is one of yourselves, a servant of Christ Jesus, sends you greetings. [He is] always striving for you earnestly in his prayers, [pleading] that you may [as persons of ripe character and clear conviction] stand firm and mature [in spiritual growth], convinced and fully assured in everything willed by God.” If God’s Word is the engine, prayer is the ignition. Keep in mind that the ultimate goal of our time of devotion isn’t information but application. We learn through reading, we apply through praying. God’s Word is placed in our hearts through reading, studying and meditating but it’s activated in our lives through prayer. Pray God’s Word over your life. Prayer releases our faith. Prayer is putting God’s Word into action. And in Colossians 4:12, we see a prayer that Epaphras used to activate God’s Word in his life and the lives of those around him. Here are five things Epaphras prayed that we should as well… First…to be a person of ripe character. Second…to have clear convictions Third…to stand firm Fourth…to grow and mature spiritually Fifth…to be convinced and fully assured of God’s will Make Epaphras’ prayer your prayer and activate God’s Word in your life!
