EPF Ad Campaign Calls For Checks On Statements ================================ The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) today launched an advertising campaign that called on its members to diligently check their EPF statements to ensure that their contributions are in order. The two-week advertising campaign, starting from 3 June until 14 June 2013 would appear in both radio and television. In a statement released today, EPF General Manager for Public Relations Encik Nik Affendi Jaafar said, “We are calling on members to examine their EPF statements to verify that their contributions are accurate and are remitted on a timely basis. For example, those earning RM5,000 and below should receive a 13 per cent contribution share from their employers while those earning above RM5,000 should be receiving 12 per cent.” In ensuring that members are informed, the EPF had recently dispatched the annual account statements for 2012 to its 6.85 million EPF members. Alternatively, members can obtain their EPF statements through electronic channels offered by the EPF – i-Akaun and EPF Kiosks. With i-Akaun, members are given the convenience to access their EPF statement anytime and anywhere. As for EPF Kiosks, members can print their account statements by using their MyKad and through thumbprint identification. EPF Kiosks are available at EPF branches and third party premises such as National Heart Institute, selected branches of Permodalan Nasional Berhad, Aeon Credit, Courts, RHB Bank, RHB Easy, RHB Islamic, AmBank, CIMB Bank, Public Bank, Maybank, Citibank, UOB Bank, HSBC Bank, Hong Leong Bank, OCBC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Malaysia Building Society Berhad. Members may also request for their statements at the nearest EPF branch by producing their identification card. “However, the EPF wishes to emphasize that any requests for statements via telephone will be declined for security reasons,” said Nik Affendi. Nik Affendi reminded those members who have moved out from their previous address to update their residential address with the EPF as the account statements are posted to members’ residential address as registered in EPF records. This is to ensure that the statements which contain confidential information do not fall into the wrong hands. Members may update their residential address through the convenient i-Akaun which is available on myEPF website (kwsp.gov.my) or by filling up Form KWSP 3 and submitting it to the nearest EPF branch along with a copy of their identification card. Since January 2012, EPF members have had the added advantage to elect for the name of their beneficiary/beneficiaries printed on their annual statement that is sent by the EPF once a year. To have beneficiaries stated in the annual statement, members with an existing nomination would need to fill up Borang KWSP 4C and as for new nominations, members would need to indicate the same in Borang KWSP 4. source: kwsp.gov.my/portal/en/news-listing-page?p_p_id=newslisting_WAR_newshighlightsportlet&p_p_lifecycle=0&p_p_state=normal&p_p_mode=view&p_p_col_id=column-3&p_p_col_pos=1&p_p_col_count=3&_newslisting_WAR_newshighlightsportlet_jspPage=%2Fdisplay%2Fnews_content.jsp&_newslisting_WAR_newshighlightsportlet_redirect=%2Fportal%2Fen%2Fnews-listing-page%3Fp_p_id%3Dnewslisting_WAR_newshighlightsportlet%26p_p_lifecycle%3D0%26p_p_state%3Dnormal%26p_p_mode%3Dview%26p_p_col_id%3Dcolumn-3%26p_p_col_pos%3D1%26p_p_col_count%3D3%26_newslisting_WAR_newshighlightsportlet_jspPage%3D%252Fdisplay%252Farchive_view.jsp&_newslisting_WAR_newshighlightsportlet_primaryKey=4401&_newslisting_WAR_newshighlightsportlet_isDetailPage=true
