She had waited so long for this day,and now that things were working in her favour she was very happy indeed. After meeting Kogis uncle she was very assured that Kogi was serious with their relationship. She was glad that the two families would be having a formal introduction this afternoon. Rebecca? Temitope called again. Eh hnn Rebecca jerked, Temitope has been calling your name since,it seems you were deep in thought. Rachel said ,as she stretched out the gele. Im thinking of Kogi ofcourse. Rebecca smiled. Rachel laughed too,Whats so amusing? At last you want to marry your Kogi. Rachel laughed again. I dont think you two are looking at the time at all. Temitope said. Rebeccas eyes moved to the wall clock,she stood up. Ah Kogi hasnt arrived yet. Rebecca said anxiety written on her face. Relax,im sure hes on his way already. Temitope said. She returned to her seat and Rachel tied her gele in a nice style while Temitope helped with the make up. Kogi looked at the wall clock again,he had Ubahs mobile and he said he was on his way to his place. There was a knock on the door,Ada came in for the usual but Kogi explained to her that he had an important family function to attend to. Just when he locked the door,there was another knock. He opened the door angrily. Beluwa stepped in with a bag. What are you doing here? he asked without thinking. As Beluwa sat down her bag on the stool. What kind of question is that?You havent even welcomed me. Kogi scratched his head,his eye on the wall clock.Sorry,good afternoon,how are you and why didnt you call me before coming here. Look,im fed up with your attitude these days o,youre not even giving me attention. Beluwa complained bitterly. Alright...im sorry. Beluwa noticed his appearance,he was dressed for a party or something.Do you have a function to attend to? she inquired. This was the silly question he dreaded since she arrived. You ask too many questions Beluwa. he said scracting his beards again.Anyway im attending a family function. Eh en Beluwa voice started like the engine of a car.A family function abi, am i not supposed to be there as your wife to be? she cried. Kogi looked at her with the corner of his eyes,what kind of trouble has he gotten into with this woman. Please stop crying,theres always a next time. he said glancing at his wrist watch. it was some minutes past two already. The door opened and Ubah came in without knocking. his white guinea was soaked with sweat. It was the same as Kogis dress. Theres a problem o Ubah said looking at Kogi. Kogi excused himself and went to speak with Ubah outside.Whats the matter? he asked impatient,looking towards the door to see if Beluwa was eavesdropping. They moved farther down away,Its the uncle o. Ubah started.Sorry,i mean your uncle,hell not be able to make it for your introduction. Kogis forehead broke into hot sweat,That cant be possible. he said his voice had changed. Ubah what do i do? He asked confused,his ever ready and numerous ideas had deserted him this time. There cant be an introduction without the uncle.. ..erm em...sorry your uncle. Ubah said. What do i do now? Kogi asked asked.Proffer a solution to the matter on ground. This time it was Ubahs turn to scratch his head and beard,Call Rebecca and inform her that youll not be able to make it. Just like that? Kogi said frustrated. You have to inform her now,her family is waiting already. Ubah said. Kogi removed his phone from his pocket and switched it on,his hands were shaking as he dialled her number,he put the phone to his ears listening as the phone ranged. Rebecca paced across her room,she was sweating in her air conditioned room. Rachel and Temitope sat on her bed trying to make her calm down. Its almost three oclock and his phone is off..what if...what..ko..gi Rebecca said unable to relax. Rachel wondered why kogi hadnt call to inform them of any reason why he would be late,there was a knock on the door. All three eyes looked towards the door,manriam came carrying a crying william.Temitope breastfeeded the table quietly,she was also anxious and so was the rest of the family. Rebeccas phone rang,she punched the button but the phone kept ringing,her hands were shaking,Rachel grabbed the phone from her and picked the call.
