ERCOT reported setting a new wind generated power record at 12:20 am on March 18, 2014. The wind in Texas generated 9,689 Megawatts of electricity, which supported 33% of the consumer demand at the time. Two days before (3/16), ERCOT wind power topped a previous record when output reached 9,681 Megawatts at 11:40am, supporting 30% of the consumer demand at the time. It looks like (for 30 - 33% at the time) the answer really was blowin in the wind....
