ERROR OF THE AGED POLITICIAN! Even with the endorsement of Muhammadu Buhari by 12 APC governors as their presidential flagbearer and the sudden dropped-out of its partys three presidential contestants, Rochas, Kwankwaso and Nda Isaiah leaving Buhari and Atiku almost at the verge of its primaries, it is apparent that the peoples general may still recount his mesmerization as a serial looser by past and present leader of Nigeria. It is not a wish but a premonition of electoral downgrading. I do not envisage his fourth failure but to state emphatically at this point of power desperados that Nigeria has come of age when she is not leaving by the archaic idealogies of past politicians who have kept them where they are and are still persevering to linger the peoples stagnation through leadership. Governance shouldnt be based on age of ones politicking. But a strategic and systematic adoption of intelligence aimed at regulating national issues with relevant global information which has the potential to revamp the countrys state of leadership. If Nigerians believe in the usage of elderly politicians in administration of the nation, it then means that ZIKs postulation of renaissance Africa has been negated and hindered from taking prevailence in Nigerians political structure. The zik of Africa has in his literary work opined that leadership of any nation should not be determined by ones age but rather intellectual horizon. Where a younger being is capable of handling national issues and ensuring stability and good governance, he should be seen as a political elderly statesman. But where the aged politician is myopic and have a limited scope of taking the nation beyond its immovable point, then such one should be seen as a tyro or an unskilled premature young political leader. No personal motive is attached to this idealogy. Is just for we all to see higher than our station. Should Buhari emerge as the oppositions presidential candidate just as the permutation is likely to produce him, history is sure to repeat itself. Order than this, no course for alarm at the end of 14, february 2015 election. His handfull lovers shouldnt be bittered, ruefued, resentful or result the society to unwarranted chaotic atmosphere.
