ESE Phrase of the Day “It’s out of my hands” In Standard English and Business English this expression is used when a decision making (or problem solving) process is no longer within our control and we need to clarify that at this time there is nothing we can do about this. Example I spoke to Mr Jones about your situation. I told him that you were sorry and that you won’t do it again. But he seems very angry and may contact the police. I tried my best, but it’s out of my hands now.
