ESSENTIAL OILS ANYONE? About 31 years ago I began my practice as essentially what is known as a “straight” Chiropractor. Find the misalignment, adjust it and leave it alone. I have softened in my approach but nobody on the planet could have told me that one day I’d begin using essential oils in my practice, as well as educating patients on their use at home! NOBODY! Health doesn’t come in a pill box. It doesn’t come out of thin air. It doesn’t come with you Insurance company telling you that you can have preventive Medicine, which means a pap smear and breast exam once per year, if that. It comes from taking personal responsibility and learning what’s available to you to help you with your health. The new Insurance plans will quite possibly outprice themselves and a single payer system will be very very controlling of what you can and cannot have done, with them paying for it that is. So, your health is now to be all on YOU! Your total responsibility. About six weeks ago I began doing lots and lots of outdoor work. Mowing, Weed eating, camping and my allergies spiked so badly I couldn’t see straight. All the typical running nose, itchy eyes, itching nose, itching ears, lethargy and fatigue. Typical stuff. Of all people, my wife Karen had just been doing “research” (nosing around) with some friends talking about essential oils and how they might help our kids. She had purchased a “kit” containing three oils. These oils had as one of their uses, the inflammatory responses of allergies. One morning, I took the plunge. Almost immediately 50% of my allergic symptoms cleared. I repeated this two more mornings. We then switched to a diffuser, where droplets are diffused into the air of our bedroom overnight, containing these three oils. Amazingly enough, allergies GONE! Inflammation GONE! I have absolutely no nasal blockage and have literally taken a face full of hay while mowing. Nothing has rebounded negatively at all. THIS STUFF WORKS. Just this past weekend, I was at a seminar where the room was kept at 67 degrees. I quickly developed a sore throat, chills, body aches and cough. I called an Essential Oil Distributor, took her recommendations, mixed the appropriate oils into a diffuser and by the next morning, this past Sunday, I was much much improved. By yesterday, Tuesday, it was gone. As a person who is quite stubborn and “show me” when it comes to new healthcare modalities that appear, I am sold. Flat out sold. I have no questions about the efficiency of the oils. I am learning all about their effects so that I will shortly use them in my office.
