ESTATES DEVELOPMENT OFFICER. Reporting to the College on technical and professional matters and to the College Principal on operational matters. The EDO shall be in charge of infrastructural development, managing outsourced services and managing investment portfolios of the College. Duties: 1) Establish and maintain a record of all land and buildings owned by the College of Medicine. 2) Establish and maintain records of all services to and from the College of Medicine; such as water, sewerage; electricity; telephone; including drawings showing locations of these. 3) To oversee the day to day maintenance of all the above property, including issuing directives to the Maintenance Supervisor. 4) To prepare rehabilitation program, indicating priorities, materials and equipment; costs; bills of quantities 5) To recommend to Principal the appointment of consultants and if required contractors for the above 6) To see to the preparation of a revised Master Plan for the College of Medicine following all consultants; if necessary recommending and instructing a consultant for this work 7) Within this Master Plan to initiate and oversee the production of a landscape plan and its execution. 8) To Oversee the proper maintenance of the landscape of the campus 9) To promote the construction of new buildings according to the Master Plan and Campus needs; including identifying funding and liaising with donors on behalf of the College; identifying and overseeing the appointment of design consultants; overseeing and assisting with any tendering process including preparation of specifications and acting as the College of Medicine representative in such constructions 10) To initiate and promote ideas for the College of Medicine in improving its existing built facilities and in the provision of other new structures 11) To prepare through consultations development plans for all campuses 12) To manage commercial activities related to letting out facilities QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE • BSc in Civil Engineering, or Architecture, or Land and Quantity Surveying, or Estate/ Property Management, or Land Economy or an equivalent. Those with a masters in the relevant field will have an added advantage. • 3 Years experience in Estate/ Property Management or a similar field. • Must be capable of producing basic construction drawings ; or have sufficient knowledge about these to guide the draughts person.
