EVEN FABOO & CO ARE KISSING KUJE PRISON ! From Daily Trust News Paper; A Federal High Court in Abuja, yesterday, stopped the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from publishing names of nominees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for national and state assembly elections from Ondo State. Justice Ahmed Mohammed’s preservative order followed an application by executive members of the PDP in Ondo State, led by Olu Ogunye to commit INEC, the PDP national chairman, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu and the National Secretary Prof. Wole Oladipo to prison for contempt of court. The judge ordered the parties not to act on any list for elective suits until Justice Adeniyi Ademola returns to determine whether his order on December 18 had been violated by the submission of the lists to INEC. Justice Ademola had sacked the executives of the PDP constituted by Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State who had defected to the party. Ademola subsequently ordered the national secretariat of the PDP, INEC and the Inspector General of Police to relate with the Ogunye-led executive with respect to the primaries and elections to various offices in the state pending hearing of the motion on notice. Ajibola Oluyede, counsel to the Ondo PDP, argued yesterday that ignoring the earlier order of the court by submitting and accepting lists of candidates without recourse to the state executive as directed by the court was contemptuous on the part of the party’s national officers and the electoral umpire.
