EVEN SUPERHEROES NEED HELP SOMETIMES. THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE APPRECIATED This little superhero is Julian Andrade. He is the son of SAPD Officer Joe Andrade. We first met Julian when we held the SWAT SUPERHERO DROP at NC Baptist Hospital. At that time, Julian happened to be there for treatment, since he suddenly became ill, and his parents didnt know quite what was wrong yet. He had lost weight and was having eye trouble. Since then, Julians condition has worsened, and he has been taken to a hospital in Houston. There, doctors had to do an emergency eye surgery on Julian, but once they got to the nerve, they were unable to do everything needed due to complications and swelling. Doctors had to do a craniotomy to biopsy the lining around Julians brain. They were forced to put a tube in Julian’s head to drain out all the fluid to relieve pressure. Both surgeries went well, but a tumor was found in his brain that has already spread to the spinal cord. Tests are being done to determine the full extent of Julians illness, but he needs your thoughts and prayers. The Andrades have been staying in Houston for a few weeks to be near Julian. We are thankful to our family in blue in Houston PD and LaPorte PD. Officers from both departments have graciously donated the use of a free rental home to Julians family, and even outfitted it with Christmas decorations and groceries. We hope to have good news about Julian soon.
