EVENING, PART TIME & FULL TIME: Issues and Perspectives Dear - TopicsExpress

EVENING, PART TIME & FULL TIME: Issues and Perspectives Dear Fresh Mapaites, Owing to the recently released admission list, and the need of majority of the newly admitted Mapaites and interested persons, this piece became a neccessity. The topmost aim of being in an higher institution is to attain a certificate, worthy of recognition in all spheres of human endeavours, particularly the labour market, in Nigeria and world over. Having observed critically the situation of things since the list was made available by the management of the prestigious MAPOLY, efforts would be made to clear air on some vital issues for better understanding of all concerned. To start with, MAPOLY offers her programme, majorly in three (3) different phases, namely; FULL TIME, EVENING and PART TIME, with the exemption of Diploma Programmes. 1. **** FULL TIME **** Students, who are offered admission into this category came in through or after taking JAMB, thus all JAMB-related formalties/documents would be required of them. These set of students receive their lectures in the morning, Mondays to Fridays, except where there is an exemption. The programme is just for two years. (i) OND: Students who fall in the schools of Communication, Engineering, Enviromental and Sciences go for Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES) after first year into the programme, and a mandatory one (1) year Industrial Traning (I.T) at the end of the programme. (ii) HND: Students, who are offered admission go for one (1) year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Also, students who fall in this category have their lectures as in 1(i) above. 2. **** EVENING **** This is a two(2) years programme. Those who are admitted in this phase receive their lectures on Mondays to Fridays, sometimes Saturdays, 3pm to 6pm. (i)OND : Students in this category have nothing to do with JAMB and as such do not go SIWES, but I.T (ii)HND : They do not go for NYSC. 3. **** PART TIME **** This is often time regarded as the Real PART TIME; its lectures are received on weekend days- Saturdays and Sundays. Its a three (3) years programme. (i) OND: as above in 2(i) (ii)HND: as above in 2(ii). N.B. Those who fall in 2nd and 3rd Phases above would have their registration formalties that have to do with SCHOOL OFFICES channelled through the CENTRE OF PART TIME AND DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES, beside KEHINDE JIBODU HALL. However, may I state here that result and certificate to be issued at the end of the programme would not be in anyway affected, neither will FULL TIME, EVENING PART TIME be inscribed on or in any part of it. I heartily rejoice with those who have been admitted; may it end well for you. Those who are still not yet admitted, stay cool and calm; I believe success awaits you.
