EVERYONE LOOK AT THIS! Warren and I are embarking on a quest to read together some of the most beautiful/philosophically interesting/influential books, plays, poetry and essays from different time periods. Warren knows lots of things, I know very few things, and we are learning lots of things about the context to make for interesting discussion. Right now we are doing ANCIENT GREECE!!! (The Philosophies and Literatures thereof). Aristotles Nicomachean Ethics and Aeschyluss Agamemnon, which we accidentally stole from the library. Would anyone like to read with us, and talk about what were reading (either internet-wise or in person)? If not the greeks, maybe the vulgar middle-english? The beatniks? The romanticised science of the Renaissance? The despairing anti-government prophets of the 20th century? Works that should never be, but so often are, performed by Lawrence Olivier? Anyway if you would like to, send me or Warren a message or just comment on or like this (depending on your degree of laziness). We might even make a facebook group.
