EVERYTHING IN THE BIBLE IS NOT THE WORD OF GOD! by Deirdre July 24, 2014 Everything in the bible is NOT the Word of God. The Lord has allowed Satan and Satans ministers to have speaking parts in the bible. Satan can also use some of Gods people to speak his wickedness. That is why it is so important for you to read the bible for yourself - so that you may discern Gods word from Satans...instead of relying on someone else to tell you what the bible says and means. Below are two examples: in the first Satan is speaking directly, in the second Satan uses Peter, the disciple of Jesus to try to prevent Jesus from fulfilling the will of God. Matthew 4:1-11 English Standard Version (ESV) The Temptation of Jesus Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written, “‘He will command his angels concerning you,’ and “‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “Again it is written, ‘You shall not put the Lord your God to the test.’” Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! For it is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and were ministering to him. - Matthew 4:1-11 Another example is Satans usage of Peter when Jesus Foretells of His Death and Resurrection From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This shall never happen to you.” But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.” - Matthew 16:21-23 So as demonstrated everything in the bible is NOT the Word of God, the bible allows Satan and Satans ministers to speak to teach us how to discern truth from lie. Also the bible teaches us that Satan can enter and speak from anyone (including one of Jesus disciples i.e. Peter) which means we must always be on guard and test the spirit that speaks to us. Spirits (good and bad) speak to us through people and bad spirits can speak through people we trust. So be on your guard!
