EXCITING NEWS!!!!!! So on Monday night we decided to send a quick message to Canadian Olympic Snowboarding team, this is what I sent: Request for Olympic Snowboarders Hi there, this may seem like a very strange request but my name is Sarah Schroeder-Janzen and I am the sister of Shane Schroeder who was tragically killed at the Kicking Horse Ski Resort just before Christmas on December 20th, 2013 in an avalanche, we (his family) along with several of his friends have started a campaign called #shred4shane that is to bring awarness to avalanches and safe snowboarding. Shane and his friends were always very careful and always checked conditions as well as having all the avalanche gear needed to be as safe as possible, unfortunatly none of that can protect against severe head trauma. Anyways, the request we wanted to ask of you is if any snowboarders would be interested in placing #shred4shane stickers on either their gear or even to just place some of them around while in Sochi?? We always loved watching the olympics together as a family and my brother was very excited about some of the new events that had been entered this year, it will be very hard watching in a few weeks without him. So, even if this request is not possible I would love it if I could at least be informed, either e-mail me back or you can call me at 780-463-0642, if you call our home number you can speak to myself Sarah, my husband Terry, my father Len or my mother Grace, we really look forward to hearing back from you either way!! Our condolences regarding Shane, it looks like a great cause and youve done a great job of putting this together. If youre able to send me some stickers, Ill make sure they make their way to Sochi. (But the team leaves soon!). I cant guarantee they will put them on their boards, they each have sponsor obligations and there is strict rules at the Olympics on what they can and cant do, but Ill see what I can do. So anyways, #shred4shane stickers are on their way to Sochi!!!!! Who knows if we will see them or not but the thought counts. Lets spread Shane all over the world. Love you Brother
