EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS (2D) – Directed by Ridley Scott A film about Moses discovering he isnt of Egyptian origin and in fact Hebrew and it is his Hebrew people who have been slaves to the Pharaoh generations for some 400 years. Once Moses, who is played by the perfectly cast Christian Bale, discovers he is Hebrew then the film descends into full on slaughters, cycles of deadly plagues and so forth. The plagues are depicted fairly well and not over played scenes so are brief in comparison to the almost 3 hour long film. Each plague is intense as meant to be and the reptiles in a blood red sea makes the film a bit edgy. Apart from the plagues, I admit I was fairly bored in places as felt the film was very slow and patchy – could of trimmed it down considerably if the script was written well! Also for a 12A rating, it was fairly violent and showed horses being killed by the thousands in some scenes. OK. Yes all CGI but if a child was watching that film, may be a bit upset by some of the contents. Oh yes, it is Biblical after all I guess. The film is basically Hebrew revenge against the Egyptians. Some of the film is visually stunning so that detracts your attention away from some of the boredom you may find having whilst watching this film. A shame really as potential to be the epic film it could have been if the Director had kept a handle on things more and brought it in a bit tighter. So sadly 2.5/5 because of the boredom factor. https://youtube/watch?v=t-8YsulfxVI
