EXPENDABLES 3: ughhhh... So I am a fan of the first two movies. They are actually some pretty solid action films. This, however, was a huuuuuuuge downgrade. So Sylvester Stallone teams up yet again with everyone but unfortunately a job goes wrong and he is forced to recruit a younger batch of soldiers. The 4 new recruits were okay i guess. The girl was badass but thats about it. Keep in mind though, they dont completely replace the usual crew. We also get Wesley Snipes and Harrison Ford along with Mel Gibson as the villain. I wish we had more of those 3, especially Gibson because he was actually a cool villain, but the film barely gave him enough screen time for him to reach his full potential. It was cool seeing them all on screen in action but there was one big problem. So last time I checked, the year is 2014. WTF WAS UP WITH THE SPECIAL EFFECTS?? They were noticeably bad. Explosions and stuff looked incredibly fake. They even used noticeable stock footage. Come on! I bet the whole entire budget went to the actors and the leftovers went to the F/X crew, which was probably about $50. Oh, and not only did the action look fake, but the PG-13 rating made it less enjoyable. When knives were thrown the camera would cut away or when they shot at enemies, you wouldnt see the impact. Since we got so used to what we would see in the first two, the action was less enjoyable. Speaking of action actually, there is not a lot of action to begin with! There tons of moments when the movie would just drag and be boring. I was not expecting this movie to be THIS bad. Shitty characters. Barely a story. Shitty special effects. Shitty action sequences. It was boring at times. It was just bad. Barely any redeeming qualities. 5/10 Would buy on bluray for: $3. Maybe $5 if i want to complete the trilogy.
