EYESALVE:THE LIE? Posted on Sep 20 by Pastor Terry Fischer “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:” II Thes. 2:11 Some other respected versions use the word “the” instead of the word “a” before the word “lie,” so it would be worded, “the lie.” If “the lie” was a correct translation, what would that lie be? It would be the main lie, it would be the lie that motivates all other lies. To find the answer to that can be found where the first lie is recorded in the bible, (Gen. 3). The serpent said to Eve “then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” The Lie? Man is god. When do you commit this lie? Whenever you take matters into your own hands. Whenever you decide for yourself or do your own thing or trust your own decisions, you act as god in your life and are therefore living “the lie.” On the other hand, if you walk in the Spirit, you will live the truth, for He is the Spirit of truth and there is no lie in Him.
