Eagan Press Release On Earlier Shooting: On December 1, 2014, at 6:34 PM, Eagan Police Officers responded to several reports of gunshots fired near the 3800 block of Ballantrae Road. Multiple witnesses reported hearing an argument followed by gunshots and at least one vehicle leaving the area. One resident reported an unknown man knocked on his door and said he had been shot. This man fled prior to the police arriving, but while investigating the incident, officers learned there were two victims with gunshot wounds at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville. This is an ongoing investigation and details are limited. However, at this time investigators believe the two men picked-up an acquaintance in their vehicle near the intersection of Ballantrae and Silver Bell Roads in Eagan. An argument ensued, where several shots were fired inside the car. The 23 year old driver was shot and sustained wounds to the chest and shoulder. Currently, he’s being treated at the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) and is in critical condition with life threatening injuries. A 21 year old passenger was shot in the arm and is also being treated at HCMC for non-life threatening injuries. The victims provided sketchy suspect information where we have nothing of substance to convey. No arrests have been made, and we do not believe there is a threat to public safety.
