Eagle Radio News Headlines Thu Oct 24, 2013 14 year old Danvers High School Student Philip Chism has been arrested and charged with the murder of a 24 year old Colleen Ritzer of Andover a Danvers High School Teacher. -- Lowell Police are investigating what may have been an attempted abduction of a 14-year-old boy who was walking along Merrimack Street yesterday afternoon. Police are searching for a white male with brown hair and a medium build driving a gray Chrysler 300 with New Hampshire license plates. -- The state of NH is exploring additional ways of raising revenue by selling naming rights for rest areas to businesses with the monies generated set aside to support about a dozen of the state’s rest areas, many of which were closed by budget cuts. -- Home sales in Massachusetts have reached an eight-year high. About 44-hundred homes were sold in the State last month at a median price of nearly 325-thousand. The Mass Association of Realtors believes the surge is due to low interest rates and more qualified buyers. -- Police in Salem, N.H.,locked down Salem High School today as they searched for 18 year old Thomas George a suspect in an attempted homicide. Police believe he may be armed with a knife and hammer. -- During a 90 minute candidates forum at the Lawrence Public Library - candidates seeking the three at-large seats on the City Council in the Nov. 5 city elections were unanimous in their support of voter identification and the need to clean up the election process in Lawrence. -- Developers hoping to build an affordable housing project on Berry Street in North Andover have reduced the number of apartments from 240 to 216. However the Berry Street Neighborhood Association is still opposed to the idea. -- A Manchester, NH elementary school teacher has been fired and is now facing criminal charges after authorities allege she assaulted a special ed student. Donna Varney is accused of putting pepper and soap in the seven-year-old childs mouth, as well as flicking a book at the student. --
