Eagles Sweep Doubleheader in CCC Soccer KIRKLAND, Wash. - The NU Eagles women and mens soccer teams swept through their home games today with two shutouts. The women scored a goal in each half to shutout Corban 2-0 in the first game and the men blanked Evergreen 1-0 in the second game. The women earned their 6th consecutive shutout and improved to 7-4-1 overall and remain undefeated in CCC play with a 5-0 record. Acacia Johnson score the first Eagle goal in the 44th minute as she took a through ball from Tatyana Reveles for the score. A Corban foul in the penalty box gave Kelsey Greene a PK which she put past the Warrior keeper to put NU up 2-0 at the 63:24 mark. For the men, Daniel Christenson stepped up with a huge save on the PK by Evergreens Willie Spurr 7 minutes into the game to maintain the 0--0 tie. Taylor Young then scored the game winner in the 25th minute as he headed in his 8th goal of the season off a double assist Odason Pelogi and Trever Moll. Great day for the Eagles on the NU pitch! A huge thanks to NUSG for the pre-game tailgate party which was a big hit and well attended. Also, a thank you to Dustin Shirley for his barbecue during the mens soccer game for the NU alumni.
