Earlier this year, a team of recreational divers from the New Jersey Historical Divers Association partnered with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to create maps and drawings of the ROBERT J. WALKER, a U.S. Coast Survey vessel that sank off the New Jersey coast in 1860. NOAA offered support and advice on the expedition, but the diving and datal collection was handled entirely by these hard-working volunteers! The WALKER is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making this a groundbreaking and important collaborative effort! #DiveWeek Read more about the history of the WALKER at sanctuaries.noaa.gov/maritime/walker/
