Earlier this year we re-visited the 89 key Gavioli organ, restored by ourselves in 1996/7, for tuning. For your enjoyment we present here a recording made at that time. (Note the audio was recorded on a phone, so please excuse the recording quality) The organ plays its original No.4 scale and still operates using its restored bellows making it one of very few still working in this manner! Accompanying the audio are a few images of the instrument when newly restored taken here in our works, prior to the addition of the center figures which were added slightly later. Also shown is the original center painting, found under the horse painting, which was likely removed when the organ came to Britain due to its somewhat risqué nature! Shown lastly is an original factory photo of the instrument which came to light after the restoration was completed.
