Earlier today, my dad and I had planed to go shooting at the range today. He told me to go upstairs and change out of my clothes. Whilst doing so there was a loud bang; I froze and called for my dad. He yelled back for help. I bolted down stairs to see what had happened and he was holding his hand, moving as fast as he could to the bathroom. He proceeded to tell me Trent, grab me a towel; I just shot myself in the hand. Apparently my dad thought he took out the clip of the gun and proceeded to dry-fire, pull the trigger with out a bullet in the chamber, and a single 9mm round went off going straight through his right hand; he forgot to leave the clip out and put it back in by mistake, according to federal way police. My message to all of you is always treat ANY firearm as if it was loaded, or ready to shoot; because you may never know if there is a bullet in the chamber. My dad was LUCKY having the bullet go straight through and only having an index finger compound fracture. Others may not be so lucky. Please share this with your loved one that may own a firearm, because if it were happen to someone else, it may not be their hand the bullet hits.
