Early Start Today: Rewaxing the Gaming Area floor. Move everything to one side of the gaming area. Sweep with broom. Sweep with dustmop. Mop once with damp mop. Inspect floor identify trouble spots. gum here and there, 2 really bad scuff spots. Get green pad and scrub up scuffs and scrape up gum. Get soapy water - lightly buff up the entire floor, taking up about half the previous wax. Mop with soapy water. Mop with clean water. Wait to dry. Mop with clean water again. Wait to dry again. Mop with clean water a third time, wait to dry a third time. Now, we are ready for wax. Lay one coat, wait to dry and buff to shine. Lay second coat, wait to dry, buff to shine again. Okay, now to do the other side. This has got to be an every week thing in the winter - as we have essentially 7 areas in the store to do - if we do one area every week, we refnish the stores floors every two months. I have my standards. I like a nice clean, and shiny store floor.
