Early #ThrowbackThursday. This June will mark my TENTH workiversary at Lenawee Humane Society. For those who remember, I first started as a nerdy little volunteer and was officially hired in 2005. Three months after I started, the shelter almost closed. LHS was a completely different place back then. In an interview done by WTOL, LHS told the public they stopped accepting animals and the remaining would be euthanized unless adopted. Check it out: toledonewsnow/story/3912439/lenawee-county-humane-society-could-shut-down Compare that to today, ten years later. Todays interview with WTOL featured the opening of Lenawee Humane Societys new Hope Clinic. Were not begging - were celebrating. Were saying, hey, want to jump on this party train with us?! instead of animals are going to die because of you. Todays article: toledonewsnow/story/27787278/lenawee-humane-society-able-to-help-more-animals-with-new-hope-clinic?clienttype=generic I am so proud to be a part of these changes and to watch this organization become everything it should be. Im going to brownnose for just a second (dont get used to it!) but thank you Marcie Cornell for saving LHS. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
