Early morning thoughts: Amidst all of our current turmoil, lets not forget that an armed community is a polite community. With rising police murders of civilians, I would rather arm the people and disarm the cops - as we did in colonial times. The cops today are serving the elite controlled government, not the people. More and more people are resisting calling 9-11, because they know that 1) the cops wont get there on time, and 2) if they do arrive, the chances of being shot by the cops is too great. Ive lived in England, and the coppers were not armed. No one feared being killed by them - they were members of the community, and even without guns, they actually solved crimes - think about that. I very much liked being able to deal with the coppers as neighbors, rather than as an invading military force. I used to consider our own American cops as neighbors, but no more - the trust is gone. I also want our LEOs to solve crimes, not intrude in our lives for victimless offenses - they should all be detectives, not militarily armed street warriors as we saw in Furgeson. America, in the midst of the current depression, has the fastest growing prison industry in the world, and also, sadly, America has the highest percentage of its people incarcerated - of all the countries on earth. It has been estimated that 86% of those incarcerated are there for victimless crimes - crimes in which there were no victims of their actions. Thats wrong, and thats bad. It must be stopped and reversed. In reality, the people are no longer the criminals - the justice system is criminal, and the LEOs have become the criminal enforcers for the government crime lords. That too is wrong, and that too is bad, and must be stopped. A couple of quotes describing our American condition come to mind: “Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?” said Dr. Ferris. “We want them broken. You’d better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against – then you’ll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you’d better get wise to it. There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, rulers make them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that’s the system, Mr. Rearden, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.” --- ATLAS SHRUGGED If you wish to keep slaves, you must have all kinds of guards. The cheapest way to have guards is to have the slaves pay taxes to finance their own guards. To fool the slaves, you tell them that they are not slaves and that they have Freedom. You tell them they need Law and Order to protect them against bad slaves. Then you tell them to elect a Government. Give them Freedom to vote and they will vote for their own guards and pay their salary. They will then believe they are Free persons. Then give them money to earn, count and spend and they will be too busy to notice the slavery they are in. -- Alexander Warbucks
