Early this morning Moms hospice doctor came to check on her. This - TopicsExpress

Early this morning Moms hospice doctor came to check on her. This Dr. has been with hospice for 25 years, is straight forward and oh so kind. She took one look at Mom and put away her stethoscope, she caressed Moms hair, held her hands, checked her skin, arms and legs for 10 minutes. The Dr. looked at me and showed me several things that indicate her time here is very short. Moms skin has never looked better, she looks younger today than 6 years ago. Moms demeanor is calm, peaceful and restful. Small changes are happening with Mom now and all add up to her future journey home. I showed her a black and white, 8 x 10, of my niece Stephanie holding her baby, Scotty tonight. Mom looked at it and said; That is beautiful, cute little boys, I love that. Her cognition comes and goes within seconds. I can see it in her eyes. When I see that she is engaged I talk with her, show her things and try to have a good laugh with her. Then it is gone. Tonight I walked outside and was totally engrossed by the post storm sky. Mom would love this and capturing it is honoring that part of Mom. The color spectrum in the sky is equal to the spectrum of color in our World, be it people, wildlife, Nature, our pets, experiences. Our gift is the ability to recognize them, protect them and love them.
