Early to bed, early to rise. I was awake at about 5:30 this morning and figured I might as well get out of bed. Drinking a cup of coffee in the kitchen, feeling the nights cold swaddling the house and looking at the pitch black world through the windows made me think of the hunting trips my Dad and I went on when I was a kid. A quiet, dark world with just me and my Dad moving around. The deer never had anything to worry about from me (Im a vegetarian, which, apparently, is an old Indian word for bad hunter) and the memories hit me at the most wonderful times. Yet one more thing to be thankful for.
