Earnings first quarter of 2013: $216 million dollars...Earnings first quarter of 2014: $266.4 million dollars...Thats an increase of $50.4 million dollars in first quarters comparison. Dont get me wrong, Im glad NiSource has had that kind of success. Thats the kind of uber-healthy company I want to work for...That said, it raises the question: Why would a company whos success is integral to the performance, sacrifice, and hard work of its front line work force, demand that workforce sacrifice the promise of a happy and healthy retirement? The banners the company has hanging in their facilities all over the service territory say: Our Employees Rock, Thanks for being the best. Those words ring hollow today. The companys deeds dont match their words. As our President told the company bargaining committee on Wednesday; Your credibility is on the line here!
