East Timor says Australia engaged in unprecedented, improper and inexplicable conduct when it raided the offices of a lawyer representing the tiny country in a dispute over an oil and gas treaty. Australias spy agency ASIO raided the offices and the house of lawyer Bernard Collaery late last year, taking data and a number of documents. East Timor has argues the raids - which Australia has defended on grounds of national security - put them at considerable disadvantage in its current arbitration process.
