EastEnders icon Peggy Mitchell will come face-to-face with the Queen Vics newest landlord Mick Carter when she returns to Walford next year. Show bosses recently announced that Barbara Windsor had signed up to reprise her role as Peggy for one episode, which will air in the soaps 30th anniversary week in February. Exact details of why Peggy returns are still a secret, but fans can look forward to a must-see scene when she meets the man who has taken over her beloved pub. EastEnders executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins commented: Theres an amazing scene between Barbara and Danny Dyer thats got them both very, very excited! Speaking at an EastEnders press event, Treadwell-Collins also teased the shows upcoming live episode, which is expected to be the highlight of the 30th anniversary week. The Lucy Beale murder plot will be one of the stories taking centre stage in the special edition, as the mystery of who killed her is finally resolved.
