Easter brings a lot of memories and family has always been such an important part of this holiday for me. Today my family and I are heading to the beach, and we hope to make many more memories. We will miss yall Matt and Christina and Benjamin. I remember (and miss) going to the Easter sunrise service in Kentwood with my paw paw and getting Easter baskets full of candy from Maw Maw even though I was jealous that Matt and Teri got the same as me because we were also usually celebrating my birthday. It reminds me of the Majesty and Glory of Easter production that Istrouma used to put on every year. It was always an amazing play that helped you visualize the life of Christ. Hearing My Redeemer Lives being belted out still gives me chills and Via Delarosa can still make me cry seeing the depiction of Jesus carrying his cross, beaten. And I still laugh at Dana is just hanging around when practicing the resurrection (Katie Woodruff). The weather is beautiful. Easter also always meant spring break before I had to grow up and work a big kid job. Spring break meant no school for a week, and it also meant school was almost over for the summer! I can find so much to be thankful for. We tend to focus on Thanksgiving as our being thankful time, but the pilgrims, indians, corn, and turkeys will never compare to God sending his one and only son to die on the cross for all of us. He paid the ultimate price that no one can ever repay. Remember that today. I love celebrating Easter with bunnies and chickens and candy and pretty colors as much as the next guy. I also love to stop and remember the amazing price that was paid and the overflowing love that Jesus has for me and best of all… MY REDEEMER LIVES!!! youtube/watch?v=6QvX4CwSmwY
