Easter is coming up this weekend. Sadly, for many bunnies, chicks and ducklings, they will be sold and purchased as impulse gifts. If you are not ready to care for your bunny for the next 10+ years and include him/her as part of your family - buy a chocolate rabbit instead. Rabbits are incredibly loving and loyal pets, but they do require just as much care as a dog or cat would. If you do decide to add a bunny to your family - consider adopting one from your local shelter or bunny rescue. The shelter I volunteer as a photographer for has rabbits available for adoption regularly. To find a local rabbit rescue or shelter, visit petfinder (dot) com. Please, do not purchase a feedstore or roadside easter bunny, chick or duckling - this simply encourages these greedy individuals to sell more next year. Rescue a pet in need and be sure to do research to ensure that you are bringing in a pet that your whole family is ready for!
