Ebola-Marburg Virus Disease is a systemic febrile illnesses, characterized by sudden onset with malaise , fever, myalgia and headaches, followed by vomiting, diarrhea, maculopapular rash, renal and hepatic involvement, and a hemorrhagic diarthesis. Laboratory findings indicate multiple systems involvement, primarily of Liver, pancreas, kidneys, and to a much less degree, central nervous systems and heart. Leacopenia,, thrombocenopenia, transaminase elevation are characteristics. Approximately, 25% of the cases of Marburg Ebola virus infections are fatal., some fatality rates have ranged from 50%-90%. Diagnosis: Diagnosis is by visualization of the virus in the blood, or in the liver, kidney sections by electronic microscope , or by its isolation, in tissue culture, guinea pigs, or monkeys, or by serologic tests. Laboratory studies should only be carried out only where maximum protection against infection of the staff and of the community is absolutely available.
