Ecclesiastes 12 REMEMBER also your Creator in the days of thy youth, before the evil days come , and come the years of which thou mayest say, I have no pleasure in them ; Ecclesiastes 12:1 Before that darken the sun and the light and the moon and the stars , and make the clouds return after the rain ; Ecclesiastes 12:2 On the day when the keepers of the house tremble , and the strong men shall bow , and the grinders cease because they are few , and darken those who look through the windows ; Ecclesiastes 12:3 And the front doors be shut down because of the sound of the grinding , and raise the voice of the bird , and all the daughters of music shall be slaughtered . Ecclesiastes 12:4 As well as the fear that is high , and terrors in the way, and the almond tree blossoms , and the grasshopper shall be a burden , and destroy the appetite , because man goeth to his long home , and the mourners go about the streets: Ecclesiastes 12:5 Before they break the silver cord is broken and the golden bowl and the pitcher is broken at the fountain, and the wheel is broken at the well , Ecclesiastes 12:6 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. Ecclesiastes 12:7 Vanity of vanities , saith the preacher , all is vanity . Ecclesiastes 12:8 And the more the preacher was wise , both taught the people knowledge , and paying attention , and scanning , composed many proverbs. Ecclesiastes 12:9 The preacher sought to find out acceptable words , and wrote them with upright, even words of truth. Ecclesiastes 12:10 The words of the wise are as goads , and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies , which are given from one shepherd . Ecclesiastes 12:11 And again , my son, be careful : there is no limit to books , and much study is a weariness of the flesh . Ecclesiastes 12:12 From all that has been heard , the order is : Fear God , and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man . Ecclesiastes 12:13 For God shall bring every work into judgment , and to all that is hidden, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Eclesiastes 12 LEMBRA-TE também do teu Criador nos dias da tua mocidade, antes que venham os maus dias, e cheguem os anos dos quais venhas a dizer: Não tenho neles contentamento; Eclesiastes 12:1 Antes que se escureçam o sol, e a luz, e a lua, e as estrelas, e tornem a vir as nuvens depois da chuva; Eclesiastes 12:2 No dia em que tremerem os guardas da casa, e se encurvarem os homens fortes, e cessarem os moedores, por já serem poucos, e se escurecerem os que olham pelas janelas; Eclesiastes 12:3 E as portas da rua se fecharem por causa do baixo ruído da moedura, e se levantar à voz das aves, e todas as filhas da música se abaterem. Eclesiastes 12:4 Como também quando temerem o que é alto, e houver espantos no caminho, e florescer a amendoeira, e o gafanhoto for um peso, e perecer o apetite; porque o homem se vai à sua casa eterna, e os pranteadores andarão rodeando pela praça; Eclesiastes 12:5 Antes que se rompa o cordão de prata, e se quebre o copo de ouro, e se despedace o cântaro junto à fonte, e se quebre a roda junto ao poço, Eclesiastes 12:6 E o pó volte à terra, como o era, e o espírito volte a Deus, que o deu. Eclesiastes 12:7 Vaidade de vaidades, diz o pregador, tudo é vaidade. Eclesiastes 12:8 E, quanto mais sábio foi o pregador, tanto mais ensinou ao povo sabedoria; e atentando, e esquadrinhando, compôs muitos provérbios. Eclesiastes 12:9 Procurou o pregador achar palavras agradáveis; e escreveu-as com retidão, palavras de verdade. Eclesiastes 12:10 As palavras dos sábios são como aguilhões, e como pregos, bem fixados pelos mestres das assembléias, que nos foram dadas pelo único Pastor. Eclesiastes 12:11 E, demais disto, filho meu, atenta: não há limite para fazer livros, e o muito estudar é enfado da carne. Eclesiastes 12:12 De tudo o que se tem ouvido, o fim é: Teme a Deus, e guarda os seus mandamentos; porque isto é o dever de todo o homem. Eclesiastes 12:13 Porque Deus há de trazer a juízo toda a obra, e até tudo o que está encoberto, quer seja bom, quer seja mau.
