Echoes of the Masters The Saturday Group of Artists Presents ‘Homage’ In collaboration with Shangri-La Mall, the Saturday Group of Artists pays tribute to the masters in the show “HOMAGE, A Tribute to the Masters,” on view at the Shangri-la Plaza’s east wing atrium from July 14 to July 21, 2014. Known for its long history and its mix of illustrious masters and rising stars in the art world, Saturday Group holds an annual exhibition that highlights its members’ unique visions, styles, and techniques. For its 45th year, the contemporary Saturday Group members honor the invaluable works of their inspirations, inlfuences and mentors. The result is a most interesting collection of some of the most canonical works of art as interpreted by new, contemporary minds. Led by its Chairperson Cris Cruz, and current president President Migs A. Villanueva , HOMAGE hopes not just to draw the eye of Shangri-la’s art patrons but to inspire and entice the public in appreciating the nuances and techniques of each precious art piece and raise awareness of arts in the Philippines. Homage is an exploration into worlds that have been loved years before and re-imagined with the minds of artists today.
