Ed Milibands speech today will outline Labours proposed strategy for tackling the deficit. The NHS and overseas aid budget will be ring-fenced while other Whitehall budgets will be cut. The fact that his plans will be welcomed by Blairite MPs and that hell be aiming to reassure centre-ground voters, however, would appear to indicate that Ed is still trying to please everyone rather than steering the Party back to its socialist roots. We dont want the centre ground, Ed. Been there, done that.
