Eden Food Membership Poll results are 12% say leave it on the shelf and let the customer decide, and 88% say to pull the product. If this had been close, I probably would have let it sit, but the response was overwhelming against keeping the product in the store. I will be sending a letter to Eden foods along with all of the poll results telling them why we have chosen to do so, to at least let them know why the small farmers they employ might have to cut back a little bit. We will sell through the product on the shelf, and not order any more. We will find suitable replacements for the product until the company makes a change to support these right equally(either by paying for all contraceptives or none at all). The Clintonville Community Market does not have a policy designed to keep us out of political debates. Thats what makes us so important. We can get involved with anything we want to, so long as the membership supports us. I myself used to make a living standing on the corner in front of the co-op fundraising for various political campaigns and non profit groups. Thats why I live a block away from it now.
