Edgy story to share because it makes me seem a little crazy, but here goes. When i first moved into my truck i spent a few days in new hampshire. I was loving the mall of new hampshire - great atmosphere there. felt really, really good. so i was there a lot. I walked into best buy and noticed the Wii U kiosk had Mario 3D World...playable! so i started playing it, and was enjoying Nintendos latest genius. Love that company. But then, something shifted very quickly. A cold, dark feeling set in. Kind of like when the sun disappears suddenly right before a really bad storm. and i felt it in my gut, and the thoughts rose on their own, There is going to be a shooting. I dropped what i was doing immediately, dropped the controller, and started searching best buy, slowly, intentionally. i looked at every person and had an inner checklist going, Nope, nope, not him, not him... i trusted what my body was telling me and kept looking. and then i found him and my inner radar went berzerk. 30 year old man. blonde hair. DARK expression. wearing a trenchcoat and he was walking around really funny... like he was indecisive about something and it was showing up as him walking a little stiltedly. I had heard stories about the girl who felt something and fled moments before a shooting, and intuition runs through moms side of the family... and i inhereted it. So I took the feeling very seriously, plus i had two friends who i was pretty sure were still in the mall... no way i was letting them get shot. i rounded on the man. with gestures and kind of like an aggressive, but subtle I know you are up to something. and he started playing into the other side of it. he started circling shelves trying to get closer to me, and i had to duck behind the nearest shelf whenever he did this. it went on it the middle of a crowded best buy for about a minute, me and him having a stand off - a long distance standoff. and then he moved toward me very aggressively and boom - i was behind a shelf so fast! im no good to anyone if i get shot. it would probably only have empowered him. when i got out from behind the bookshelf he was gone. i told security. i frantically searched the mall for 30 minutes, horrified, looking for any sign of him. There was none. He went home. If he had intended to start shooting people i can only imagine what it must have been like for him to meet a mind reader. I hope he changed his mind after that.
